Farsta / for Svenska Bostäder
Reflex has designed four panel buildings with a total of 97 rental apartments to be sited close to an area of owner-occupied homes south of Stockholm. These buildings have been carefully integrated into the uneven terrain and form south-facing courtyards with views of the surrounding countryside. The blocks are to be built using passive building technology and most of the heating will generated by the occupiers themselves, lighting and domestic appliances. Heat from the district heating system will only be needed for hot running water and the public areas. There are larger windows in the pale south-facing façades, which have balconies that run their length and also serve as sun shades, while the façades that face north are more enclosed and finished in plaster in different earth colours.
