Vasagatan 7

Redevelopment / completed 2009
Central Stockholm / for Vasakronan

The objective of the redevelopment of the Pennfäktaren block in the city centre was to transform an anonymous, enclosed building into one of the city’s most modern office properties with an explicit environmental and technological focus. The blank concrete façade was replaced by an intricate system of glass boxes and areas of extruded metal. The result is a building that reflects its surroundings in daylight and changes character at night to become transparent and illuminated. This was the first building to be LEED certified in Sweden.
