for Marriott / Scandinavian Hospitality Group
This hotel with 278 rooms, conference facilities and a restaurant is one stage in Marriot’s establishment in Scandinavia. Reflex has striven for coherence so that the building and its interior comprise an architectonic whole. At the same time the interior speaks for itself and the American element finds greater expression than in the exterior. Combined with Scandinavian simplicity, it offers a setting that is comfortable as well as stylish in which green is a theme that links to the setting, perhaps most explicitly in the generous guest rooms overlooking the parkland.
In Björk Bar & Grill the interior has been inspired by the Swedish forest, using a theme of trees and red berries. Although the restaurant has the feel of a cosy local eatery, it also functions as a breakfast room and can accommodate separate groups, while serving as the hotel’s living room together with the lobby and the bar. The granite and frosted glass in the bar offers a contrast to the fire in the open hearth in the lobby.
