Study / 2006 – / Stockholm / for Capio S:t Göran’s Hospital
Capio St. Göran’s Hospital is Sweden’s fourth largest emergency hospital and the only independent one in the Stockholm area. Most of the treatment it provides has been commissioned by the Health Authority. Its catchment area comprises the population of 400,000 in the city’s north-west.
The facilities, which are managed by Locum, date from different periods and have different standards. Altogether they occupy about 40,000 m². Most of them are housed in a building erected in the 1980s. The study shows how they can be developed over about 10 years on the basis of aspects such as spatial needs, disposition, logistics and the necessary interconnections.
